Locally-based firms Erickson-Hall Construction Co., Baker Electric Inc., RQ Construction and R.A. Burch Construction Co. were named four of the nation’s safest construction companies in 2013 by the Associated General Contractors of America.
The companies were four of 25 contractors that placed first in the Willis Construction Safety Excellence Awards. AGC President Paul Diederich said the firms were selected because of their exceptional leadership in safety.
Diederich noted that the companies are dedicated to the development and implementation of premier safety and loss prevention programs. The companies presented outstanding guidance in safety and occupation health management, risk control, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation, he added.
AGC honors multiple winners because the awards are distributed for a number of categories based on the size of the company, the amount of work performed and the type of work performed.
Winners are selected by a panel of five independent safety professionals within the government, corporate and insurance industries.
